How the Experience Works
The experience unfolds over four carefully curated parts and lasts approximately 6 to 8 hours, depending on group pace. Each element is designed to complement the next, creating a cohesive and meaningful journey through creativity and culture.
Part One – Meet the Artist (Art Workshop)
Guests begin the day by meeting Joel in his studio.
This immersive workshop introduces participants to his artistic style, influences and creative process. Guests are invited to paint alongside the artist or contribute directly to a work in progress. This is a hands-on experience, participants should expect to get a little messy, work with paint and fully engage with the creative process.
No prior artistic experience is required.
Part Two – Pan-African Food Experience
Following the workshop, guests enjoy a Pan-African food tasting lunch.
The menu celebrates the diverse flavours that shape Cape Town’s cultural identity. Dishes are inspired by one or more African countries, and each experience is unique, as the selection is curated by the artist himself.
Food becomes a continuation of the story. personal, cultural and shared.
Part Three – Music Experience
This part of the experience is available only on Sundays.
Guests explore Cape Town’s live music culture at one of our favourite Sunday gathering spots, known for showcasing raw local talent. Time spent here ranges from 1 to 2 hours, depending on crowd levels, as Sundays can be particularly busy.
For bookings on days other than Sunday, this part is skipped and the experience moves directly to Part Four.

Part Four – Wine Pairing & Reflection
The day concludes with a guided tasting of three South African wines from Black-owned producers.
The selection includes both lesser-known labels and wines that have successfully entered the commercial space. This final moment is intentionally slower — an opportunity to reflect on the day, exchange thoughts and connect through conversation.
End of Experience & Transport
The experience ends after the wine tasting. Guests are encouraged to use Uber or arrange private transport. Drop-off can be organised in advance upon request.
