Interests
With this mixture of people comes a great cultural infusion from Zulu traditional meals to
Indian curry meals and an infusion of both influences like the very famous chakalaka salad
which can be used as exhibit A of how well these 2 cultures complement each other.
On this tour we get to taste a bunny chow, move around the city in the very famous Durban
minibusses to get the full local experience, we visit the market and finish up with some
street food and a drumming experience which is optional for people who want to immerse
themselves in the Zulu culture.
Price
R690 per person.
History of Durban
Durban is the 3rd biggest city in South Africa with a good mix of the Zulu tribe as well as
having the biggest population of Indians outside of India.
Highlights
Take a historical guided walk down Rockey Street in Yeoville – a steaming broth that remains part of Johannesburg’s inner-city heartbeat.
Yeoville’s “United States of Africa” will offer you an experience that will challenge your perceptions and delight your taste buds. We want to give you a blank canvas and brush so that you can paint a new picture of Johannesburg. You'll see that you don’t need to travel thousands of kilometres around the African continent to get a taste of Africa.
